What illnesses are valid to cancel a trip?

alla k asked:

If a person bought travel cancellation insurance, what sort of illness would be a valid reason for them to cancel the flight and get the money reimbursed? If there’s a list I can refer to online or something that would be great.
Thanks :).
***** I meant to add that the insurance company has a specific procedure regarding medical excuses in which they send a form that the doctor must fill out as proof of a medical condition that may interfere with flying. My question was if anyone knew all the conditions which would constitute an illness valid for reimbursement for the flight by the insurance company.

I don’t think you have to give a detailed description on your ailment, the fact is you have insurance you purchased for whatever reason you needed to cancel your trip, it’s non of their damn business! If so tell them something their sorry they asked details about, like irritable bowel syndrome.

…. stomach infection. or simply say you have an emergency and will not be able to make the trip. If they ask you what happend, they’re invading privacy. The “runs” might also work. Diarreah always cancels people’s plans. It has for me anyway….. Hope this works. :o)
