We are going on a Mediterranean cruise for 12 days. We have Aetna insurance (POS Choice II)–is that enough?
Mr. E asked:
Or, should we purchase travel insurance from CSA for $84 each? I just called Aetna, and they cover any medical related emergencies that we may encounter. Cruise ship’s infirmaries are out of network, so my plan covers me at 75% after a deductible. If I need an emergency room visit, then that would be covered at 100% after a $75 deductible.

Maybe a better question is, if we should get travel insurance, how does CSA stack up against TravelGuard, Insuremytrip, and others?

I have learned the hard way, and always after the fact, of what a medical insurance says it covers and what in reality it doesn’t. I always suggest for people to protect their vacation with additional travel insurance. You are usually covered from when you step out your front door to when you get home. Plus, it also gives you extra coverage for loss or stolen baggage etc.
As a travel agent and cruise specialist, I have used and sold Travel Guard, so I recommend them highly. I have had many clients who have been very happy when something did arise for their honesty and professionalism.

CSA is one of the best travel insurance companies. However it depends on their corespondent insurance company where you are going.
In all cases it depends on the relationship of the corespondent insurance Company and the health care providers.
At my Medical office there are some companies that without mentioning names we refuse to deal with.
Aetna POS Does not Cover overseas travel. I am a physician and I had that company’s PPO insurance and I am sure it does not cover this band of health care costs.
I would recommend Insuremytrip.com who are our affiliates.
