Trying to find insurance for my laptop in Israel?
Justin S asked:
I’m in Jerusalem right now and will be living here for 2 years. I’d like to insure my laptop against damage, theft, and electrical surge. I can’t find any place online that will do this in Israel, and no US company will because Israel has a “travel warning.” Where can I get my laptop insured here?

That a fact?
gee, I’ve never been to any part of israel, but I ve been to some other third world countries like Tanzania and Rwanda.
I had to do the same thing so I went to one of the major Kigali PC stores and I had the store manager arrange for me an insurance.
I remember it was a Belgian Insurance Company that did business over there.
But,
I did not use the insurance eventually because my Panasonic Toughbook
was always with me (It had a GPS receiver-transmitter embedded on the mobo) and when I wasn’t carrying it along with my gear I always kept it locked up safely way out of any prying eyes.
So, just ask any of them franchise high-tec stores. I am sure they’ll help you out. They usually get a commission out of each contract anyways, methinks.
Good Luck, Son

even if you found someone, they’ll charge you as much as the laptop costs so why bother? Buy a $35 thing against surges and keep it under the bed when you go outside.
I’d be more interested in getting Life insurance if I were you, being as you are in a Nation that’s been at war ever since its birth.
