rural carrier insurance?
hey everybody,
i’m a new part time rural carrier substitute, meaning i work on the regular carrier’ day off and holidays and sick days; i’m trying to insure a car i just bought, and they all tell me i need a commercial insurance but gmac told me i don’t need it because of some Federal Act so my 2 questions are”
1) does anybody know what that Act is?
2) why is every other insurance carrier trying to sell me that commercial deal if i don’t need it?
I need insurance asap as my vehicle comes on Friday and im using a minivan rite now, not practical at all and im driving w/o a seatbelt which i completely hate, i’ve never prayed so much in my entire life!!!
Thank you in advance for your answers…

Have you checked with the Postal Service about the insurance? If there is such a law, they should know about it.

If you are using your car for any commercial venture, and that means anything that is paying you money, you need commercial insurance.
