Your school's clinic *might* be able to help but don't count on it. Xanax is tightly controlled and usually you need to go see a doctor that you already have a decent relationship with. The dermatologist might do it. But if you're not used to taking xanax, you might want to look at some other options. Some people have bad reactions to xanax (and ambien and valium and all the other drugs people fill themselves up with to make it through a flight) and end up worse off during their flight than if they had just flown sober.

Also xanax is pretty expensive--- if you're tight on money, you'll want to do this WITH the insurance, not without it.

If you're just a little scared, you should probably try going without the xanax.

Xanax is a controlled medication and just any Dr cannot prescribe. Once you get a RX for it you should be able to get off the insurence. Good luck

The Dermatologist will probably refer you to your Primary Care Dr. Explain to your Doctor your concerns and your financial situation maybe he or she can recommend something over the counter that is reasonably priced that will do the same thing. You can also try talking to the Pharmacist and maybe they could recommend something. Good luck, happy holidays and safe journey.
