I just asked this but I missed an important detail.oops?

Heythere asked:

I hurt my chest. I have a heavy pressure/pain in the middle of my chest/ sternum area when I press on it,,when I arch my back a certain way,,or when I get up from bed..etc. Basically from moving a certain way and pressing on it. It’s quite uncomfortable. I was lifting some heavy things at my job and carrying things up and down a large flight of stairs for the last few days. It also hurts when I take a deep breath,,,like somone knocked the breath out of me or something. I’m sure it’s not cardiac related as i’m young and healthy and actually just and an ekg and full blood work up 6 months ago that was fine. It def feels like I hurt it in some way. I looked up the symptoms on web md and it said something about costochondritis which sounds right. My question is,,,I don’t have insurance and don’t want to pay the money for the doc. Does anyone have any suggestions to help with the discomfort?

I could very well be pregnant at the moment.

ok sounds great,,wanna loan me the 500 bucks to see a doctor for them to tell me I pulled a muscle?
I am only without insurance for a short period of time until I start my new job.
I’m waiting to miss my period before I take a test.

arent doctors free where you live??? Move to Australia Quick.

you really should be going to the doctor as they are physically able to inspect the real condition and match it up to the reported condition.

it does sound like costochondritis. the usual remedy for it is ibuprofen or any of the other NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). problem, though, is that you might be pregnant…saying that you MIGHT be pregnant tells me you’re in your first trimester (that is if you ARE pregnant). most drugs are not safe to be taken during this period…i’m an eye doctor and have forgotten my pharmacology on systemic drugs, unfortunately…i’ll research and get back to you. in the meantime, don’t take anything just yet.

…here…you can take paracetamol, but other than that, refrain from taking anything else. go to wikipedia for more info…or better yet, get that pregnancy test and confirm for sure, THEN go to your OB-Gyne for help.
