Wow- this has happened to me, except I'm a woman. I have been stolen from. My ex used to pawn my stuff and jewelry to buy drugs and beer.

I want to tell you that the situation IS within your control. Start now to look for another job closer that has insurance benefits.
It seems when we feel we have no control over things that we get most depressed. I've been there.

It would help if you knew what your passion was and could turn it into a job. Such as sports, animals, computer games, etc.

It may be time for you to go to a college, even if it's a community college to get a certificate in something higher paying and change your life. It's never too late for that.
And most of all, stay busy. And I don't mean "zoning out" on drugs, alcohol, or the tv. Find something productive to do that makes you feel good about yourself.

Then when you least expect it, someone will come into your life. But be more careful this time.
And if you could get a pet you have to take care of-dog, cat, whatever. Something that would be there when you got home, this would help you feel better, I know for a fact.
And Christmas is just another holiday that makes people feel a lot of stress and pressure. Remember, there will be another one next year.

Good Luck, I hope it all works out for you !

...hey John-everything changes and ur situation is no different from the rest of the world. This nightmare we are all in is because of the bad leadership we hav in the country right now-drug use is up-alcohol use is up(QUIT)...crime is up-and more.
Jus keep working and add things to ur life that are good or fun and someone else will come along...and somehow thru hard work- times will get better-that's a fact.Whatever you do add something interesting you like to do at the end of each work week...movies...dating...coffee...meet people and ur life will find itself but it takes time and patience-but above all...you gotta stop drinking...that's where the depression turns into something bigger than you can handle...try the gym...jogging.... a new way/life...a book or two...it will change if you help it...so-good luck and make it a happy holiday...

Okay John, we all feel for you and most have us have had a dark period in our lives that we had to get through. It is easier said then done, but just keep plugging and keep telling yourself there is a light at the end of the tunnell. Spring is just around the corner and with it will come better times. Good luck to you and hang in there....don't give up. Everyone here will be rooting for you!!!!
Here is a Christmas star for you!

Listen to Christmas music, decorate a little.Be optimistic. Start looking for a new job that you will like. Stop drinking. Drinking will upset your brain chemicals towards being more depressed later after you have stopped. Have you thought about carpooling.
