Flying Poverty?
JimSock asked:
I keep hearing here on YA that Bush has completely destroyed the US economy. The stock market has crashed. We’re in a recession. There are no jobs because they have either left the country or been taken by illegals. There is no money. The dollar is worth nothing. No one can afford a home and everyone is living on the streets. No one can afford a University education. Everyone is sick an dying because they have no health insurance. The CEO’s are hording all the cash.
The Chinese are about to attack. The government is broke. Can somone please tell my how all these impoverished people are able to buy plane tickets to the point where our airports are so clogged with flights that they are crashing into each other? Where are all these desperately poor going? Why are they all staying in five star Hotels? I have to stay at the Hampton Inn. The Hiltons are always full.
Sahara: As a business student, you need to move out of the Socialist Commonwealth of Mass. It’s really depressing you.
Tribeca:
I drive from Washington DC to NY because I can’t get a seat on a flight with short notice. The flight is triple what the drive costs.
Lil Kim: MRSA? Bird Flu? Comin’ from left field there comrade. I don’t know what you’re smokin but, I don’t want any.

Typical liberal gnashing of teeth. They look for any indication of anything negative and just ride it into the ground whether it is true or not………

Wow. The alarm is being sounded because we are in danger. More people are in financial trouble. Apparently, you have not been paying attention to what is going on with the airline industry. They have cut flights. That’s why flights are more crowded. Also, there are also less direct flights. It may seem that more people are flying but that may not be true. In fact, I know of someone whose flight was cancelled due to not enough passengers. Families are separated more than ever quite possibly so travel may have become necessary.
We have lost industries so a lot of good paying jobs are disappearing having been replaced by service industry jobs. A lot of people have been displaced and they don’t get the media attention. But I saw an article in my local newspaper about more people struggling and living paycheck to paycheck. Their paychecks are being spread even thinner. That doesn’t happen to this extent in a healthy economy. The jobs that were created last month are all government jobs courtesy of Bush. The alarm is sounding because we must stand together and try to find the truth together and come up with sensible solutions or suffer the consequences. It’s so typical of some people to bury their heads in the sand. Just because it doesn’t affect you that doesn’t mean that more people aren’t being affected. I live in Massachusetts and I am seeing the affects. It’s not affecting me as much as some people but I feel the pinch. I wonder what the future holds. I’m certainly not willing to leave it all to chance. I had some campaign person call me about voting for our Mayor in the next election. I had no problem telling him that I was not going to vote for the Mayor because I didn’t think he was doing a good job. The city’s bond rating is the 12th worst in MA. There aren’t any good jobs close by. The city was known for furniture which has largely gone to China. There are a lot of people living on welfare. Trash is a big problem. There isn’t a strong community. I don’t feel it. It doesn’t seem to be much going on to bring the community together like I’ve had in other places that I’ve lived. I see all of this as connected. We are not separate entities. We must come together and do something or suffer the consequences. I’m not that lazy where I can just sit back and wait. I won’t do it.

Considering the price of gasoline, it’s often cheaper to fly than to drive. Also, people’s credit cards are getting maxed out. The credit card companies are making billions in late payment fees and other penalty fees because a lot of Americans can’t keep up with their payments.

It’s a typical political strategy- if the libs can make things appear as bad as possible, then can offer “the right answer” to the “problems”. This only works if the average voter doesn’t bother to really check the facts. Nothing new at all, really.

Americans have becomed conditioned to feel threatened and constantly worried about the future.
Theres plenty more MRSA, bird flu, terrorists, asteroids, tsunami’s, the NAU, Iran nukes, its nearly endless.
Theres a scare for every aspect to the American lifestyle.
