Motorcycles have absolutely nothing to do with car insurance.
We have our own.
In many states, what you describe is expressly illegal.
In others, there is no law. Where there is no law against something, it may be done unless and until there is a law regulating it.
In other countries, where motorcycles are more popular, riding between cars is not only allowed, it’s also required.

I live where there is a law against it. We do not have lots of motorcycles or traffic jams. I can understand why it would be in the best interests of all for it not to be done. I can also understand why it should be done where there are lots of motorcycles and traffic.

As with anything, different conditions require different ways of handling them.

I just wish people who have issues with motorcycles would stop using the old insurance lie.

In the UK we are plagued by traffic jams and motorcyclists filter as we are allowed legally, not even police stop us when they see you filtering up to them.

From my experience in the UK drivers actually move out of your way to let you through and I always thank them. Truckers do too.

Insurance cost has nothing to do with it, my car is triple the cost of my bike.

I think someone is getting fed up of being stuck in traffic jams, instead of getting angry, get a bike
On the other hand if you mean filtering at high speed, then that is another matter and in the UK you can get arrested for dangerous riding.

I always make a rule of only filter if under 15mph.

HAHA. But, I do have to agree that lane splitting is dangerous. I had someone open a door on me, purposely, and I nearly dumped it on the freeway. I don’t do it too much because of this experience.
Driving with the high beams on is a good idea. Motorcycles are invisible to most cars, and anything to get their attention is good.
I don’t believe that motorcycles cause your auto rates to go up. Having claims or tickets will!!!

bikes have every right to be on the road and i think you’ll find our bike insurance is much cheaper than your cars. to be absolutely honest with you when i’m filtering traffic (may i add which IS legal) i love the look on the car drivewrs faces as i pass them, its jealousy really thats all because we’re getting home from work faster than you are you dont like it, oh and samantha we’re not idiots because we do that, what harm can it do to go between traffic? their bloody stationary!!!

We pay for non-insured motorists, since the freakin’ cops won’t enforce the law .

High auto insurance is NOT because of that. In fact, most motorcycle accidents are the car’s fault. Thats why my husbands motorcycle insurance is only 15 dollars a month. Our car insurance is 200 dollars a month.

But I agree; bikes do not need to be riding between cars. Most people DONT do that. Only the idiots do

You are incorrect in that we are not paying more for motorcycle drivers. Whoever told you that was not correctly informed. You ARE paying more for Insurance fraud. Motorcycles have every right to be on the road…
