I live in Germany now, and I am going to visit my childhood home in the summer for 40 days. My German insurance doesn’t cover me in the USA, and I am not eligible for a lot of travel insurance because I am a US citizen, and I still use my parents address as my legal address.

I just want to be insured so that if I am in a car accident, my life is not wreaked forever.
Oh sorry. I am only concerned about health insurance. I don’t want to be injured badly in a car accident and have millions of dollars worth of debts.

I bought a volkswagon Beetle four months ago and for the first time this weekend the temperature light came on. Everything was about to close because of the Holidays so I called a volkswagon dealership and they told me if the light was flashing then we could make it to our next location. We added some water, drove a little and then my car stopped. I just heard from the mechanic that the engine is gone. It will costs me the same amount I owe to fix the car. Does anyone know if insurance will help cover in situation like this? I know it is not an actual accident, but it is a total loss for me. Any suggestions on what I can do will be greatly appreciated.
