What means overseas travel insurance?

I have to go to Finland from India and the Finnish embassy in India requires an ” overseas travel insurance” . what means overseas travel insurance? How much do I have to spend to get this insurance and where in India shall I apply for the same? How long would it take for me to receive this insurance?

   Overseas Travel Insurance is a Policy of Insurance issued in your Country for travelling abroad, it covers your health and accident risks in that country for the period of your visit because as you know it can be very diificult for you to cover yourself in case of an emergency as European countries are very expensive that is why they have made it mandatory for people to cover them with Overseas Travel Insurance, best way is that you can get it through the Travel Agent from where you are buying your Air ticket, otherwise you may contact any National or International Insuarance Company in your Town, the fees is minimal, it varies from country to country but I think it should not be over 15-25 US $ in your place for a month’s Overseas Travel Insurance ( By the way also enquire from your Travel Agent as some airlines provide this Insurance free if you buy their ticket and Travel with them).
