Your credit card will cover it if you actually used the credit card to pay for the rental. Hopefully, that is the case.

Call your cardholder and advise them of the situation. They will deal with the rental company on your behalf.

If it helps, think of cars with larger engines as ones that you will have had "to do your apprenticeship" to drive - a larger-engined car is much more within its' stride when being driven a lot faster than a small-engined one. Brakes and suspension are built to take the engines' higher output.
I can understand insurance companies loading a larger-eingined car, as someone who buys such a car, and isn't used to the performance, will suddenly find themself hurtling along! Bigger-engined cars tend to be 6 or more cylinders, they are often silky-smooth and very much quieter than a small-engined "town" car, which is working hard to get to 70mph.
Here's something to cheer you up - when you DO have full No-Claims' Bonus, and are over 25, you can get cheap insurance on a fast, big-engined car. I am 42, have never claimed, and can get insurance on my 4.5litre V8'd custom-car for under 300 a year!

Rachel

it's mainly down to the fact that vehicles with larger engines are more expensive to repair because they are normally larger vehicles, we did have a problem in the UK where the small hot hatches i.e. (golf gti's, escort xr3i's etc) became targets by thieves so premiums for that type of vehicle went sky high.

--When riding a camel, do not wear a sanitary napkin in your panties, because it will hurt your vajay like whoa. Camels not only look bumpy, they walk bumpily and grindily.

--"La, shukran" means "no thanks". It can become a mantra.

--The Egyptian Museum in Cairo is disorganized but chock full of absolutely amazing things. I believe it costs 50 pounds to get in and an extra 100 to see the royal mummies (Ramesses II, Seti and so on). If your son happens to be a student, he can get discounts to things like the museum or Giza by having an International Student Card. Be advised you are not allowed to have cameras in the museum (you can get them in, actually, but you get in trouble if they see you using them).

--Eat koshari. There's a place near the Museum in Cairo called el-Tahrir (the name of the square) with some purple stripies over the name, which has awesome koshari. You can order the amount of koshari by price; 1 pound would be a very small bowl, 5 pounds a very big bowl. I think it's on el-Tahrir street.

--Be prepared for masses of people all over the place.

--Egyptian guys harassed us a lot (I, as a college age girl, was with a group of college age girls). There was no touching but a lot of shouting. In most cases it's harmless, just annoying.

--Deserts at night in February are cold.

--If you go to Mt Sinai at night in February, it is really, really cold.

Gladys

As usual you should listen to my old friend Charlie, she's not a "Top Contributor" for nothing. I live right here in the city. The number of new cases has leveled off and is beginning to decline significantly at this moment. The government is planning to re-open the restaurants by the end of the weekend and the schools and universities by Tuesday.

The media originally have reported that there have been 1500 cases and 200 deaths, that is totally deceiving. Only 120 cases have been positively identified as the "swine flu virus" and of those only 8 people are actually confirmed to have died from the virus, as Charlie said "blown out of all proportion!" (lets not forget that over 35,000 die in the USA, EVERY SINGLE YEAR from ordinary flu!)

So to recap: 1) You have a whole month to check the news and make sure there is going to be no problem, as I said its already receding! 2) There have been no cases reported in Cancun at all! (personally I would visit Cancun even if people were dropping like flies, its that beautiful, but then I'm a little crazy.....) and 3) Mexican doctors are excellent and they have lots of stockpiles of Tamiflu, if you needed it you could probably arrange through any hotel to get a shot in a couple of hours for a very reasonable price.

(of course like your doctor and pharmacist, everybody freaks out and says "oooooh don't go there! Everybody is dying!" My family writes me everyday from Canada "are you guys OK? Are you dead yet?" Jesus! Eight confirmed deaths from the virus in a city of 23,000,000 - give me a break! More people here have died from lightning strikes or been run over by taxis............)
