crazyoldben asked: Hello! I booked a flight and hotel through Expedia.co.uk but only booked four nights hotel for a seven night stay. I booked the additional three nights hotel through a different website.
I bought my travel insurance through Expedia.co.uk
Now… I may need to cancel my trip and I’m pretty sure the reason is covered under their cancellation. I’ve emailed them and am waiting for a reply to see if this is the case.
What I need to know is will the additional hotel nights that I booked seperately, be covered in the insurance, or do they only cover anything that is booked through Expedia?
Thanks!
Manuel

Justin S asked: I’m in Jerusalem right now and will be living here for 2 years. I’d like to insure my laptop against damage, theft, and electrical surge. I can’t find any place online that will do this in Israel, and no US company will because Israel has a “travel warning.” Where can I get my laptop insured here?

Margarita D asked: I will be traveling in Feb for 2 weeks with my 24 year old son and a tour group of 8 & 3 guides. I purchased travel insurance. Do I need to get any vaccinations? Do you have any advice you can share from personal travel experience? We will be traveling Cairo, White Desert, Black Desert, Crystal Mountains, Luxor, on Nile, riding camels, etc. Any warnings, i.e. since we are US Citizens? Thanks in advance for your assistance!
Thank you all for answering my questions. Each of you has been very informative and caring. Blessings to all of you and a joyous & prosperous New Year.

just wondering asked: I remarried a couple years ago, and have a baby now. I need to get some more term life insurance. I’m 42, probably 10-15 pounds overweight, don’t smoke/drink. The catch is… my birthday is coming up in a few weeks, and right after that, I’m travelling outside the country. I thought I read somewhere that getting new/more life insurance just before travelling jacks-up the price, and I know the older you get, the more it costs. My question is: should I get it now (and pay extra coz I’m travelling, but pay less coz it’s before my birthday), or get it when I return (and pay less coz the travel is done, but pay more coz I’m 1 year older)?? Maybe another choice is to wait even longer til I get rid of the extra wait (to put me in a lower risk category?). Hope there’s some agent/broker out there who can answer or set the facts straight that I’ve got wrong. Thanks for your time and assistance…

learnedalotin66years asked: This bit of driving between cars with the high beams on is ridiculous and is costing you 40% more for your auto insurance. Why should you pay for their total disregard for your safety and your pocketbook.

steven j asked: I am from Philippines, we are planning to go to Malaysia on Oct. 2008 via air asia (Clark, Phils.) We are planing to go there on our own, and stay for 5 days, but we dont know what we should do because this will be our first time to travel. Aside from passport and pocket money, what else should we prepare? How much pocket money is needed? Do we have to get travel insurance? Do we have to present medical certificate at the immigration? Is it required that we already have hotel reservations before we leave? How is the immigration at Clark Airport? What do they usualy ask? How can we avoid having problems at the immigration?
It will be our first time to travel that is why I have a lot of questions…Can anyone help me please…?

Michelle asked: I am due to travel to mexico (starting in mexico city and finishing in cancun) at the beginning of June, should I go ahead because the flights (american airlines) and the tour (contiki) have not yet been cancelled therefore I would not be able to get a refund. I also have not yet got travel insurance, if the flights and tour cancels will I get a refund? I booked through STA travel and they are ATOL protected. I have contacted STA and they are giving me very little info!
PLease please help as I am really worried!
Also do you think doctors would prescribe me tamiflu as a preventative medication or is there anywere I could buy it?
And I spoke to a doctor and a pharmacist who both advised AGAINST travelling to mexico
Thanks everyone for your answers! I really REALLY want to go to Mexico! As for the tamiflu I was thinking of taking it while I was over there eg. start the course when I leave Mexico City, so that if I am infected that I have the best possible chances as the meds are most effective within 48 hours of contamination. I know that it would be silly to take them a week or 2 before because its not a vacinne..

shonester asked: I have had a chronic medical condition for the last few years - and the Canadian doctors have not helped me at all. I plan on going to the US for a second opinion and for any tests they’ll want done.
Can I get insurance to help cover the cost somewhat? (This is not the same as travel insurance or emergency insurance.) Also no doctor in Canada is forwarding me down there - I am going by my own choice.
I don’t know if this is considered a “pre-existing condition” though. My doctors say its nothing. But I have had stomach problems for the last few years.
