Why does the engine size of a car make so much difference in car insurance quotes?

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009
Matthew A asked:

How is it that cars with bigger engines are much more expensive to insure? Surely a 1.0 litre car and a 2.5 V6 car both travelling at 70MPH for example will cause the same amount of damage (albeit the car that weighs more may have more momentum).

I can’t seem to work out the other side of this arguement. Is there anyone who could explain the difference please?

Thank You!

10 points for best answer.

I am eighteen years old and in excellent health. I am graduating high school and taking a year off before college to work and travel. Does anyone know approximately how much a health insurance policy would cost me per month? I think I need one because I won’t be a full time student next year. Thanks.

What illnesses are valid to cancel a trip?

Sunday, July 26th, 2009
alla k asked:

If a person bought travel cancellation insurance, what sort of illness would be a valid reason for them to cancel the flight and get the money reimbursed? If there’s a list I can refer to online or something that would be great.
Thanks :).
***** I meant to add that the insurance company has a specific procedure regarding medical excuses in which they send a form that the doctor must fill out as proof of a medical condition that may interfere with flying. My question was if anyone knew all the conditions which would constitute an illness valid for reimbursement for the flight by the insurance company.

Saturday, July 25th, 2009
Jango P asked:

Hello friends
I am on travel visa to US B1/B2 for a post graduation as a doctor.I had travel insurance during which I suffered an injury and had to make an emergency visit. The hospital kept on sending me the bills but since I am not earning I can’t pay the bills. Now they’v forwarded the case to a collecting agency. The hospital people have my passport no. and insurance details page. The insurance people ask me to pay it and then claim it which never works(as its from India).I am scared at this letter. Can they file a case against me?Can it affect my career?Should I call them up or just keep ignoring it?Should I tell someone to call and say I have moved places and they dont know where I am now.Its a 1000 USD bill and I really cant pay it since I dont earn.Everyone I am asking says ignore it.M confused??((

I’m on long permanent disability from last one year. My husband has a great job offer for six months on abroad, it’s not possible to stay alone here without him, he also wants to take me with him, what my options are? Do I have to inform my insurance company? Or what insurance companies’ requirments would be? Thanks
