Flying Poverty?

Monday, March 30th, 2009
JimSock asked:

I keep hearing here on YA that Bush has completely destroyed the US economy. The stock market has crashed. We’re in a recession. There are no jobs because they have either left the country or been taken by illegals. There is no money. The dollar is worth nothing. No one can afford a home and everyone is living on the streets. No one can afford a University education. Everyone is sick an dying because they have no health insurance. The CEO’s are hording all the cash.
The Chinese are about to attack. The government is broke. Can somone please tell my how all these impoverished people are able to buy plane tickets to the point where our airports are so clogged with flights that they are crashing into each other? Where are all these desperately poor going? Why are they all staying in five star Hotels? I have to stay at the Hampton Inn. The Hiltons are always full.
Sahara: As a business student, you need to move out of the Socialist Commonwealth of Mass. It’s really depressing you.
Tribeca:
I drive from Washington DC to NY because I can’t get a seat on a flight with short notice. The flight is triple what the drive costs.
Lil Kim: MRSA? Bird Flu? Comin’ from left field there comrade. I don’t know what you’re smokin but, I don’t want any.

What type of items can I write off in outside sales?

Monday, March 30th, 2009
Adam G25 asked:

I have been in outside sales for many years, I am wondering if there is a way to write off part of my rent used as a home office. some meals out etc. My current situation is that I am employed by a large company with company vehicle, insurance and gas is included. I do expense meals flights and other business related expenses. However I use my home base as my office 50% of the time and my office at our branch location the rest of the time. Am I in any way entitled to claim against rent and other home office expenses? Would I have to get my companies consent on my tax return stating that I work from home?

What if I go into labor on the plane?

Sunday, March 29th, 2009
himcrucified asked:

Okay, first of all PLEASE just trust me that I am allowed and REQUIRED to fly at 36 weeks along to a birthing facility. I live in the Bush of Alaska in a town with no hospital and my doctor will literally stick me on the plane if I don’t go willingly. They aren’t set up for emergencies here and insurance pays for the ticket. I’m going to Ohio which is 12 hours of flying with the longest being a 7 hour flight and PLEASE don’t tell me to go to Anchorage unless you have the $ for a 42 day hotel stay. Folks are in Ohio. :) My question is, hypothetically if I would go into labor in the air, then what? Has anybody birthed on the way to the hospital who could share insight or tips? I just want to be prepared for anything.
I HAVE to go on the plane. Or would YOU just pop out your first at home with no midwife or doctor or anything? What if I need a C section?
It’s 42 days because I have to be out of here legally by my 36th week. I didn’t want to fly back the day she’s born and had to book tickets in case I go overdue too. They do this all the time actually…Every woman who gets pregnant here is kicked off the island at 36 weeks. I don’t know about 30 days of night. It’s deadliest catch though…Dutch Harbor. I know God’s got it, I am just entertaining the scenario of what ifs…I can’t leave any earlier actually because I am 35 weeks. I leave mothers day. I didn’t move here until recently and my insurance only kicked in from our new job April 1st. I know, complicated huh?
There actually is NO midwife! It’s an island of a couple thousand people. There is no hospital just a clinic.

My building elevator keeps breaking down every 3 days? Do i have a law suit because the land lord not fix it?

Sunday, March 29th, 2009
Alvaro R asked:

Ok i am getting tired of my elevator keep breaking down every 3 days and when people get stuck i am the only one who have to call 911 for help even though i live in a 20 story high building.

However my family are all asthmatics and we live on the13 floor complaining about the elevator every week the land lord takes a week to fix it every time it breaks down.

My whole entire family was hospitalized after they were forced to climb 13 flights of stairs to get to their homes however my family is unqualified for insurance for unknown reason no matter how much they try to get insurance they dont get paid much when they work.

Our medical bills put together was 2 million dollars because each of us had to stayed in the hospital for a month because or our asthma was severe.

We talked about not paying rent since every 3 days the elevator keep breaking down and it takes a week to fix it.

there 7 of us in the family who whose asthmatic do i have a case?

Any doctors or anyone that knows. ?

Heythere asked:

I hurt my chest. I have a heavy pressure/pain in the middle of my chest/ sternum area when I press on it,,when I arch my back a certain way,,or when I get up from bed..etc. Basically from moving a certain way and pressing on it. It’s quite uncomfortable. I was lifting some heavy things at my job and carrying things up and down a large flight of stairs for the last few days. It also hurts when I take a deep breath,,,like somone knocked the breath out of me or something. I’m sure it’s not cardiac related as i’m young and healthy and actually just and an ekg and full blood work up 6 months ago that was fine. It def feels like I hurt it in some way. I looked up the symptoms on web md and it said something about costochondritis which sounds right. My question is,,,I don’t have insurance and don’t want to pay the money for the doc. Does anyone have any suggestions to help with the discomfort?
By the way,,I could be pregnant..I should have put that.

getting braces, i need some info?

Saturday, March 28th, 2009
iownusohard asked:

i want to get my braces put back in my teeth are as crooked as hell and if you asked me if I could change 1 thing about myself, it would be my teeth. I can afford treatment but its gunna cost me close to £5000 which is alot of money what i was wondering is are thre any dental insurance plans that would cover that sort of cosmetic treatment? If not, would it be cheaper for me to go abroad somewhere like poland and get it done, even with the return flight for checkups every so often?

are these symptoms to something?

Friday, March 27th, 2009
Guitar_chick asked:

or am i just really unhealthy and paranoid? lol I’m not trying to self diagnose i just want to know if this sounds bad enough to try and see a doctor about. i have no insurance so seeing a doctor will be hard.
I am 23 right now

i grew up normally and was a healthy kid but when i was about 9 or 10 i suddenly started gaining weight that wouldn’t go away, and i was an active kid with ADHD. then as i got older i got more and more tired, then at the age of 11 i was diagnosed with cronic migrains. i still get them to this day, but they are pretty spaced out but will go on in waves of intensity for a few months, mostly in my nasal area, but sometimes it goes to one side fo my head or the other. I’ve never really been one to eat alot, maybe during holidays and rare times out but when i was in early highschool where i would take dance class and walk up and down three flights of stairs every weekday i couldn’t lose a pound. ive gained a little recently now that i don’t do as much excercisin
actually with the migrains they radiate, they start out in the sinus are then either to one side or the other.
oops, for got to mention that my period slowed down at the age of 20 and stopped at 22 and came back light and longer at the end of 22 and beginning of 23 and had a majorly bad one last month. throughout my teenage life though it was never constant, every month was a guessing game, it was like it had a mind of it’s own and would decided to come when it wanted to each month.

Buying a used/new car to move out-of-state?

Friday, March 27th, 2009
ek_kia asked:

Hi,
I’m currently a college student who will be graduating in May. After my graduation I plan to move down from Philadelphia to Miami to start work. My current plan is to buy a used car within the next month and drive down to Miami with my belongings.
The problem is that the car would be registered in Pennsylvania and I would be moving down to Miami less than a month after doing so. Take into account the insurance and I have multiple problems to deal with once I get down to Miami. Is it worth it getting a car in Philadelphia just to move down to Miami with my belongings as I will have to transfer the registration of the car as well as the insurance? I am thinking I could save $$ by putting the flight money into getting a car which would allow me to bring more stuff down to Miami.
Note: I plan on having a car in Miami to move around/get to work so I need a car.
Thanks.
