why do parents openly break the law then get mad at their children if they do it?

Monday, February 16th, 2009
keni asked:

mostly driving offenses, speeding, illegal overtaking, jumping a red light. also littering, cheating on all sorts of things. THEN they expect their children to be honest and true. no chance.

oh, and making false claims on holiday insurance for lost items, and stealing towels from hotels, all sorts of stuff
JundaKell - I see people with families driving though our village at 70 when the limit is 50, all along the motorways there are used disposable nappies. I know a family man who always claims for a lost camera when he has been on holiday. Some people lie on their tax returns then are surprised when their children steal. Ok, not everyone, not you and not me but quite a lot of folk do not see the contradiction

anybody good at english?

Monday, February 16th, 2009
D G asked:

im confused about something that is written in my holiday insurance policy
it says:
there is no cover for any claims arising from a medical condition affecting any close relative, travelling companion

close relative, travelling companion is the part i dont understand, does it mean the close relative is a travelling companion or does it mean close relative or travelling companion? they are refusing my claim because they are saying it is to be interpreted as close relative or travelling companion but i would have thought in proper english it would imply that the close relative is a travelling companion? what does the comma mean?

EBAY: Is my package lost or is delivery just slow due to holiday season?

Sunday, February 15th, 2009
sneil asked:

I won some items off ebay and the seller shipped it on November 12th via something called small packet which didn’t include insurance or tracking (which she said would take 7-10 days) It is now December 4th and I still have not received it!

I ordered 4 posters and a magazine. I don’t believe the seller is scamming me or anything because she has 2071 positive feedback and 0 negative feedback. Did my package get lost or is it just slow because its close to the holidays? What can I do to try to find my package?

It was sent from Japan to NY,USA

No insurance, fine of $1,500?

Thursday, February 12th, 2009
okalie dokalie asked:

About 4 years ago my boyfriend was driving his friends truck and got pulled over for doing 72 in 55 zone with no insurance, had a valid drivers license at the time. The took away his license (suspended it) and told him he had to pay $1,500.0o hundred in fines, but he hasn’t paid the fines. I guess he thought they would forget about it. He got a call thinking it was a cop, but it was someone else and asked him to record something over the phone they told him he had to send a overnight delivery of the money to the court by saturday because they are close for the holidays, but he got the message to late to send it or something like that and now they say he has a warrent for his arrest. What will happen now, how long will he go to jail for, he’s got the money to pay them in about a week, but now they say hes got a warrent, any suggestions?

Car accident, no insurance, still owe money on the car. now what?

Thursday, February 12th, 2009
Jacquelyn asked:

I’m asking this on behalf of my boyfriend. He was in a car accident on November 17th, it was a 14 car pile-up that happened due to bad weather conditions. Tickets weren’t given out and I believe nobody was cited. He had no insurance at the time of the accident, and he had a loan taken out for this car (he still owes $6,000 or so on it). The car is now totaled and there is nothing that can be done about this. Obviously making a payment on a car you no longer have is ridiculous, but I assume that’s what he is going to have to do. In the meantime, he also needs to save enough money to purchase another car. Has anyone been in this situation before? What would you recommend? Obviously he should’ve been driving with insurance, that’s a given. But all that aside, he is now in some debt. He wants to file bankruptcy but from what I hear it’s expensive and you have to have a substantial amount of debt in order to file. Should he look into meeting with someone that can help him consolidate his debt? He’s having a really hard time with this right now and I want to be there and support him the best I can. Any answers would be VERY much appreciated. Happy Holidays!
